Authorized in 1993 and awarded to officers in the Command and Control operations field and to enlisted personnel in the command and control system field. This field now incorporates the weapons control and air traffic controller career fields which previously had their own badges. Other functions included in this career field are ground radar systems, tactical air control party, airspace management, air support operations, rescue coordination, and the deployment of airfield operations.
